6 thousand workers pressed into service to remove aftereffects of recent rains

With about 6,000 cleaning workers, government schools are opening their doors today with a wide cleaning process, to remove the effects of the rain that hit the country since last week, coinciding with the students attending school at the beginning of the week.

An engineering source told a local Arabic daily that cleaning school facilities from mud and water, although It was hard work, is not difficult, but the seasonal problem is the squeaking that exhausts the school administrations every winter.

The source indicated that the schools have not suffered any damage since the start of the rainy season, as the engineering affairs departments worked to prepare well for the season by covering the electricity boxes and conducting pre-treatment of the school networks and water fountains, pointing out that some of them overflowed with water during the past week due to lack of the ability of the main networks in the streets to drain rainwater, but situation soon got better.

The source reassured that the situation in schools is good and not that bad, but out of concern to avoid all expected problems with the increase in rainfall, the engineering departments of the ministry in all regions are prepared for all possibilities, adding that their work at the present time focuses on dealing with rain and its effects to ensure the end of the first semester without problems or disruption to the study, especially since the study plan does not exceed 10 weeks only during the first semester.
