IBPC hosts Indian Minister V Muraleedharan

Indian Business and Professional Council, Kuwait (IBPC) hosted a reception for the Indian Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, V. Muraleedharan, on August 24. The event took place at the Radisson Blu hotel and was attended by various dignitaries, including Indian Ambassador H E  Dr. Adarsh Swaika, Indian Embassy officials, and a select number of Indian businessmen and professionals.

IBPC Chairman, Gurvinder Singh Lamba, along with IBPC Vice Chairman Kaizer Shakir, Secretary Soly Mathew, Jt Secretary Suresh K P and Treasurer Sunit Arora received the Minister with a flower bouquet.

Iin his welcome address, Mr Lamba provided an overview of the various initiatives undertaken by IBPC to foster business and cultural connections between India and Kuwait. A video presentation showcasing the 22-year journey of IBPC was also featured.

MoS V. Muraleedharan, in his address, expressed gratitude for the reception and shed light on India’s remarkable growth story. He highlighted the India government’s efforts to create a conducive environment for business and trade by removing unnecessary restrictions and compliance measures. He emphasized India’s transformation into a global power, highlighting its achievements in areas like food exports and pharmaceuticals, including the significant role played during the COVID-19 pandemic by supplying vaccines and medicines globally.

MoS also echoed the sentiments of India’s Prime Minister by emphasizing inclusivity, development, trust, and collective efforts. He mentioned that India aspires to achieve a per capita income of USD 20,000 and attain developed nation status, urging the business community’s active participation to achieve this goal.

He praised the substantial contribution of the Indian business and professional community abroad in the country’s transformative journey. He underscored the importance of their contribution in India’s pursuit of becoming a developed nation. The Minister encouraged the members of the business community in Kuwait to engage in India’s growth journey, collaborating with organizations like IBPC and the Indian Embassy in Kuwait.

The event culminated with a photo session featuring the Honorable Minister, the Ambassador of India to Kuwait Dr. Adarsh Swaika, and all the attendees.
