KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait’s Finance Minister Manaf Abdulaziz Al-Hajri has submitted his resignation after three months in office, according to a report in the local Al-Qabas newspaper.

The resignation was approved by Ahmed Al-Sadoun, Kuwait’s national assembly speaker during a meeting on Tuesday.

Al-Hajri was appointed as finance minister in April by the prime minister during a cabinet reshuffle.

A general election in September had delivered a mandate for change, bringing 27 new lawmakers to the 50-member assembly.
