Kuwait sends 10th planeload of relief materials to Libya

KUWAIT: A Kuwaiti Air Force plane took off from Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base to Libya on Sunday, carrying 20 tons of various relief and medical materials and an ambulance. This is the tenth airlift carrying aid supplies to help the victims of Hurricane Daniel in Libya.

Yousef Al-Maraj, Director of Emergency and Disaster Management at the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, said: “Kuwait will continue to assist Libya as part of the humanitarian effort that was inaugurated based on the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.”

Al-Maraj pointed out that Kuwait is one of the first countries to provide humanitarian support to all, based on its humanitarian and relief role, stressing that “Kuwait is working to intensify its efforts to alleviate the difficult conditions in Libya after Hurricane Daniel, which left thousands dead and caused great destruction to a number of areas.”

Al-Maraj expressed his thanks to the Kuwait ministries of Health, Foreign Affairs, and Defense for their keenness to constantly communicate, provide for all the needs of the Libyan people, and facilitate aid transfers. – KUNA
