Palestinian teacher narrates to Al-Rai the martyrdom of her family in Khan Younis

In a broken voice saddened by the separation of loved ones, Palestinian teacher Magdalene Abu Odeh narrated to Al-Rai the details of the Zionist occupation’s crime that claimed the lives of 20 martyrs of her family, in Khan Yunis in the besieged Gaza Strip.

She said her father’s house, which included members of her family, including brothers, their wives, sisters, and their husbands was razed to the ground, and all that remained was a palm tree by the door, bearing witness to the crime of the occupation forces.

The teacher, who is heartbroken by the passing of her loved ones, and who is currently lying in the Farwaniya Hospital, spoke to Al-Rai in a shaky voice interrupted by sobs, and with mixed feelings of sadness for the mother, children, brothers, and sisters.

She said, “No one survived the bombing except my husband, who went to a restaurant to buy lunch for the family.” When he returned, he found the ruins of the house and the scattered, burned body parts, and my father, who is now lying with both legs amputated and in a pathetic condition.”

She stated, “Among the victims were my two daughters, Yasmine and Eileen, and I had intended to bring them to Kuwait as soon as family visas opened.” I came to work in Kuwait to ensure their future and provide them with a decent life, but God destined that I lose them along with the rest of my family members, and they will be martyrs before the Lord of the Worlds.”

She added: “I lost in the bombing my mother, my aunt, my brothers Ahmed and Amjad, their wives and their children, all of whom had memorized the Book of God, in addition to two sisters, their husbands and their children,” confirming 20 members of the family have been martyred.

She explained that “the bombing of the house was intentional, and was not random, as my husband found the wreckage of the shells, and they all fell on the house and were not random. Some of the martyrs were not identified.”

Magdalene prayed to the Almighty God to accept her family in His Paradise.

She thanked everyone who consoled her in her second country, Kuwait, for the tragedy, led by the Minister of Education and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Adel Al-Manea. And Assistant Undersecretary Dr. Ghanem Al-Sulaimani.
